Fresh Paint
I was up on Fort Howe's lookout in Saint John back in mid-fall, and saw this composition in the distance in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. My camera is just a basic Canon A570IS PowerShot, but it has fairly decent digital zoom capability, and this where I found this shot. Back in the studio, I cropped the picture and painted it.

Fresh Paint
We've been having a lot of snow here in New Brunswick this winter. The above street scene is of uptown Saint John. As most older cities go, Saint John was designed in an era of horse and carriage travel with many narrow side streets , and not for parking large objects such as cars overnight at the curb. It makes for a difficult task for the city's plow operators. The painting does not do justice to the true snow accumulation there is at the moment. I snapped this picture in late January. Currently, the snow piles are so high however, you wouldn't be able to see much of the cars from the sidewalk.
